Vonderlieth Evolution
Henry Vonderlieth, the man who made it possible had long standing interests in the Mount Pulaski community. His grandfather, another Henry came from Germany to settle here in 1838, just two years after Mount Pulaski was founded. A brickyard operator, the earlier Henry constructed the Logan county Courthouse in 1847. Standing today, on the square in Lincoln, IL the building is a state tourist attraction.
Adolph, the son of the earlier Henry, owned and operated the Mount Pulaski Windmill Company, which made central Illinois widely known Yankee Windmills. Adolph's son Henry, was born in Mount Pulaski on July 12, 188. He earned his fame and fortune as Circulation Manager for several magazines including Success, McClure, Christian Herald, McCall's, Today, Financial World and Agriculture magazines. His association with Financial World lasted from 1925 until his retirement in 1949.
